About Nocturne

I've been going to hardcore and metal shows since I was a teenager. That world shaped who I am, the music, the people, the sense that you'd found somewhere you actually belonged. Music has been one of the biggest forces in my life, honestly, in ways that go far beyond just “I like this song.” It has kept me going through the worst of life's storms.

These days, chronic illness keeps me from getting to shows the way I used to. But that didn't make the pull toward this world any smaller. If anything, it made me want to build something that could still connect me, and everyone else who feels the same way, to the scene we love.

So I built Nocturne. Not as a business chasing the next trend, not out of corporate greed, but because I actually care about this community. No investors, no growth hacking playbook, just the tool I wished existed.

Because let's be honest about the world we're actually living in. Streaming pays bands fractions of a cent while platforms get rich off their work. Everything gets watered down until it's marketable, until it fits an algorithm, until it stops being art and starts being content. Corporate playbooks turn scenes into demographics and fans into engagement metrics. I think that's bullshit, and I think artistic integrity shouldn't be up for sale just because it's inconvenient for someone's growth chart.

Nocturne isn't trying to turn you into a transaction. It's just a place for the people who still show up, still drop hard earned money at the merch table, still care about the difference between selling out and staying real.

This app is for finding dates, sure. But it's also for finding your next bandmate, your ride to a show three towns over, the person who actually gets why that one album changed everything for you. Bands can promote their shows for free right here, no hawking flyers outside a venue, no wasting paper nobody's going to read anyway. Metal, punk, goth, hardcore, and everything that branches off and back into each other, because if you've spent any real time in these scenes, you know we're not as separate as people think. We're one big, weird, extended family.

I built this because I couldn't find anything else that actually got it. I hope it does the same for you.

With love,
One elder goth metalhead weirdo with a laptop, and more band shirts than my closet knows what to do with. 🦇
